About the Opportunity 

Currently, MAT 4Site has exciting opportunities for Senior Mechanical Engineers to join our team in Toronto (North York), ON on a full-time basis. This role will operate on a hybrid basis of in-office/on-site and work from home. Travel within Ontario (25%) is occasionally required.

As our new Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be managing, reviewing, and approving a variety of projects throughout Ontario and the GTA for the design and engineering of building systems for commercial, healthcare, multi-residential, industrial, and institutional facilities.

Your key responsibilities within this role will include:

  • Successfully carrying out project assignments as directed
  • Managing design/project assignments and assisting with proposals
  • Coordinating a Project Team for a particular assignment or project
  • Developing, adhering to, and tracking the project schedule
  • Overseeing the administration and financials of the assignment/project
  • Preparing the conceptual design of a project, and reviewing the detailed design
  • Performing site investigations and field reviews
  • Attending site meetings and liaising with clients/contractors
  • Reviewing and/or preparing CAD drawings using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Reviewing and applying knowledge of relevant building codes and standards
  • Reviewing and/or preparing HVAC load calculations, Energy Modelling, and equipment selections
  • Preparing technical specifications and technical reports (feasibility studies, life cycle analysis, etc.)

More About You 

In order to qualify for this role, you will join us with a Bachelor's degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering or similar, with at least 6 years of related experience, in the fields of HVAC, plumbing and drainage, fire protection, and life safety systems. Ideally, your experience should be with the design and engineering of mechanical building systems for commercial, healthcare, multi-residential, industrial and institutional facilities within the consulting industry. Candidates must be a licensed P.Eng. from Professional Engineers of Ontario, with project management experience preferred. A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are required for occasional travel, and PMP and LEED designations are considered strong assets. Knowledge and experience using AutoCAD, REVIT, or AGi32 are preferred, as is strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code.
